Getting user-generated videos starts with a carefully crafted video request
A feature that allows creating and sharing a custom video request

INTRO
A platform that enables recruiters and managers to easily collect user-generated video content from their employees.
Customize video request, send it to employees, and then collect quality video content. The videos are used on career sites, social media, email campaigns and video assessments.
THE PROBLEM
There's no doubt that videos are awesome. However, making them can be a difficult process.
We want to create a simple way of collecting video content that showcases the employer brand.
THE CHALLENGES

The platform should cover the needs of different personas - recruiters, hiring managers, content managers.

Help non-creative users to build productive request.

The feature should be integrated into our CMS system, so it should fit within the system's technical and architectural boundaries.
USER RESEARCH
What are the different user's needs?
During my user research collaboration with the product team, we mapped all the different users that use this feature and considered all the different use cases for videos content. In order to create a broad solution.

COMPETITORS ANALYSIS
What can we learn from similar tools?
I tested and analyzed products and tools with a similar use. My goal was to learn how the tools work, what their differences are, and what their advantages and disadvantages are. I divided the tools into three types of experiences: wizard, form and canvas. This way you can compare and understand what experience suits our product.

CONCLUSIONS AND INSIGHTS

Wizard experience is best fit for our feature. It creates a simple and creative experience that can suit our different personas and our system needs.

Our users are not necessarily creative, so we make it easier for them if we create ready-made templates and a 'questions library'.

The feature should adapt to the needs of different personas and create a broad solution.

While allowing customization, the feature should also guide the user to optimal settings based on our research.
THE SOLUTION
Video capture- request builder wizard
A feature that allows users to create video requests in a short linear process. The user can choose a template with pre-prepared settings and prompts, customize the request, send it to employees, and then collect quality video content.

ARCHITECTURE

TEMPLATES AND PROMPTS LIBRARY
When the user chooses a template, the prompt field is automatically filled from the library of prompts. The system updates the library with "high score" prompts whenever users create new prompts.

According to the purpose of the video request, the user can select templates for pre-made video requests. It comes with predefined settings and prompts that can be customized by the user.

Basic info
The user is asked to fill in basic information: request name, location and persona. This information is needed for the CMS system.

Introduction setup
User can customize the intro page to encourage participants to respond. For a more personalized request, they can add a video intro and write an intro text.

Prompts setup
During this step, the user creates the video request content by writing a question, prompt, or a topic the recipient will discuss in the video. The user can adjust the video length to suit their needs and attach tags to the video to assist the CMS automation system.

Prompt library
Our prompt library is designed to help non-creative users. Our library is divided into two tabs: Suggested prompts - a list of prompts that our team created. Custom prompts - a list tailored to each company. The list is updated by new prompts that users create.

Once the video request has been prepared, the user will be able to email or copy the link to share the request.
Next, they wait for the recipient videos and start the approval process.
