Whale Project
In February 2021, a 17-meter-long Fin whale, one of the largest to wash ashore in Israel in recent decades, was discovered. I had the honor of being the designer responsible for planning the hanging and display of the whale skeleton at the Israel Aquarium in Jerusalem. This project posed the unique challenge of hanging the bones with minimal drilling to ensure the preservation of the skeleton. The work process involved a comprehensive 3D scan of all the bones, restoration of damaged bones using 3D printing, and the parametric design of hanging elements tailored to the specific morphology of each bone.
The project was done as part of my work at "Tucan Studio" with collaboration with the Israel Aquarium team.
